Why dont you do what my inlaws do. They had five kids and go visit with each of them for a week at a time( yes including us) . Then when they have done the rounds and with the money they have saved they go on holiday for a couple of weeks. They do this every couple of months. They only go home to dust then do the rounds again..

Nah, what you do is get your dad in as the lodger. Rent = Fix everything that needs fixing and free (mostly) food for me when I come home.

I live in a barrack block durring the week.

It's great, so far I've had gas central heating, new electrics throughout and a nice little workshop off the kitchine and no complaints when I make a mess!
