  • Biiiiiiiiiiiiig Lights

    Evenin all !

Does anyone know where I might find some BIIIIIIIIG lights for the front of the beast ?

I've decided, if I can't see the end of the bonnet nobody else will either - the answer is enormous 200watt big fat round lights ( I know they're illegal - and I'll never use them except on private roads and where I cant be caugh )

    rectangular or round??

I can get Rinder 9" rectangular Fogs or Spots for £50 a pair. I prefer these as the Toyota lights are rectangular so it keeps everything symetrical (sad bugger!!)
    NO WORRIES!

Some of the better motor spares shops do them or can order them in, don't know if milners, LA supertrux or roughtrax do them. Halfords do some but not sure of the wattage of the ones they sell.

If you want super high power that will garrantee a strip of sunburn acrosss the driver in front's face then you might have to buy something like a KC Daylighter and purchase the bulbs separatly as most only go upto 130W although thats getting bright enough !! Try having a look at specialists rally parts suppliers for the bulbs. I've seen 200W lamps but don't get caught using them behind your local panda car or you will be in trouble!!

I had them initially on an F12 with 24V/250w bulbs in (DAYLIGHT!!)
I will try to get a pic for you but it will have to wait until the w/e as my PC is suffering from PCMT at the moment.
Haven't you got any mounting holes (for the lights dummy!!!)

How about some Cibie Super Oscars (think they are 8 or 9 inch round). They are Big, can fit very powerful bulbs and scare the bejazus out of people. I used to have the normal Oscars on a Mini and they were bigger than the car and could show up a gnats toenails at 3 miles away.

                      Cheers

Hella do a nice set of rectangular lights, either fod or driving. They are the comet 550FF. These are black plastic backs, or the classic 181 are the same size (5" x 7") with chrome steel backs.

I can't comment on performance yet, as I ordered a set and am waiting on delivery.

On a similar note, anyone know of a discreet round bar mounting system for lights. I want to mount them on my a-bar, but not in the usual area so I need some sort of clamp on mounts.

                        Ta..

                          Hi Jim
I have just bought 4 x 9" 200 wat Spot lights from this Co:
                          http://www.ctc-autofashion.co.uk
They are mostly Truck lights and come with 24v bulbs, £80 for the set of 4 lights and £18 for the bulbs, side light bulbs from Halfords for £3.00
Fitted them to my A-Bar (holes already there) they also have side lights as well, so they look the mutts nuts when your driving at night.
I Never use them on the road as that would be against the law
However I have managed to strip the paint off the wifes car when I tested them
I will post a pic when I have worked out how
NEVER REGRET THE THINGS YOU HAVE DONE...REGRET THE THINGS YOU HAVEN'T
