head or not

2 yrs of surfing no problems,however last week overheated .The last time i filled radiator was 6 mths ago as it never needs any water.
I refilled it last week driven every day even went to Sidmouth 250 mile round trip and it took 2pints when i got back .
Could i be lucky or can a cracked head be driven ?
Or is it just a rad cap thermostat problem please!

hi duke had same prob 1yr ago rad cap was knackerd so renewed cap and stat just to be safe no probs since may be just lucky keep your fingers crossed

Oh yes a cracked head can be driven I drove mine for near two months with the head cracked. No exhaust sauna, temp gauge never moved just chucked out coolant from the expansion bottle, thats the only sympton I had.
Try a new stat, rad cap but only for sure way to tell is a pressure test.

my mates bmw broke down on the way to cornwall... i diagnosed a cracked head when it suddenly errupted oil from the radiator!... AA made us wait 3 1/2 hours for a tow!...

just to let you all know put on new rad cap about a month ago and she has not lost a drop so a happy ending
