  • Good morning World !!!

I just wanted to quickly introduce myself on the forum as time goes on... just to let you know a little bit about me.

I live in London, I drive currently a Classic Jap WRX (please don't stereo type me, I'm quite normal... not an extremist of any kind) and am selling my sporty beast for a bigger 4x4.

Currently I am in the learning stages of the Hilux Surfs because I was so confused not knowing what I wanted next, I was looking into small family cars but it just wasn't doing it for me... until I discovered the likes of the Toyota 4 Runner, Shogun, Pajero, Terrano II and of course the sexy Surfs...

However didn't venture towards the Range Rover, Jeep, Isuzu, Frontera etc because none of them had the 'wow' factor.

I want to spend £4500 - £5500 after sale of my WRX. I can not justify spending on more on my first off roader as I am not experienced or have the knowledge yet of diesel engines let alone diffs and locks etc (pardon my ignorance).

I don't foresee going off-road as such, however will definitely have to venture and of course have the potential to do so.

I will of course look for previous posts but be prepared for some strange questions.

    Hi Adeel,
I too am new to Surfs but was originally ( before wife and 2 babies)a Jap fun car owner celica,supra,whizz-kid all early ones.
The Surf is ace and a great seating position and sooooooo much room , i have now had a couple and if i was a newbie i would definately start with a 3.0td you can afford a 1993 -1994 one as they have meatier engines and are less prone to engine problems.
    ps happy new year

Hi welcome, shop around you will get a pretty good example for that money. Just take your time and look at a few before you take the plunge.
