Please Help !!!

OK, I have a slight problem ! Well actually it's a big one for me anyway !

I made the mistake of telling my insurance company that there is a set of split rims on my new surf. Luckly for me, they decided not to charge any extra for them but i have since been told that they are worth around the £2 - £ 2500.00 !!! The problem i have now is that the Insurance company want photos and names for the wheels........................ .......I HAVE NO CLUE !!!!!!

I thought they were some kind of EAGLE or BERG but these have 18 holes and i can't find them anywhere.............
All it says on the wheels is BF Goodrich and Deerfield DP but Goodrich make tyres and deerfield just brings up a county in US.

Anyone know what make they are ???????????? Your help would be Biggly appreciated !!

Got these on mine albeit with black center section, seen these on many Surfs
with various colour centers. I assumed they were one of the many Jap options, soon find if I was wrong. anyone?

Would go and look on mine as there is a load of writing on them but its still in garage minus engine.

Yep, I've got something similar with a black inner. I bought them second hand for not much money.

I wouldn't worry....they're really just a used alloy wheel once they're on your car.
You could buy a fantastic new set of wheels & tyres & spend no-where near £2500.

they are part of the Smith range called Excel EX311.
Also they are marketed under the Doctor Jekyll brand as the
Outlaw 2 silver.

They look like a lot of the wheels fitted to surfs, and most of them are only fake split rims.

Are you sure that they are split.

definatly split ! They have a deep dish of about three and a half inches, and crome plated.

Have you had the wheels off and looked at the back of them to see if there`s anything there? Goodrich might make wheels - Michelin make steel wheels for some of the french cars. You should be able to tell if they really are split rims or not back looking at the back, most split rims i`ve seen have nuts or simular on the back where "lookalikes" dont.

Who balanced that wheel? they want shooting for having weights in more than one place on a wheel!

Just had a quick seach on Google for Goodrich wheels and yes they do make them........ for airplanes!. Maybe that`ll explain why they are so expensive - they came off a 747 lol

hate to say this mate but definatly look like false split rims first clue split rims aint usaley air tight they use tubes also split rims usaly used for hard wall tyres e.g. take a bullet thats why most are false

I've just had a look at one behind and there is nuts (10 mm) all around . Definatly Split Rim !

I admit they look well but it's the Insurance that wants the make. I also have the importers that brought the vehicle over looking too but still no luck. They have a stamp on them its looks like it says JWL--T . But im still no further forward LOL

Definately not split rims. You can tell the studs are too uniform in design and fit, and by the way the valve sticks out. Those weights should be on the inside of the rims, as it's an alloy.

ROTFLMAO ! Definately SPLIT RIMS 100 % Even the garage that balanced them and a few other tyre outlets that have had a good look to identify them say (SPLIT RIMS)

The idea behind spilt rims on cars rather than lorries is so that wheel can have its offset and width relatively easily changed, its just a matter of unbolting the rim and changing it for the desired one plus its`s supposed to make it possible to just replace a component of the wheel rather that all of it if it gets damaged. Its not for tyre replacement as on a lorry but even most of those arent split rim these days and some lorries use alloy wheels now too.The dont need tubes in neither, F1Gp cars use split rims but they dont use tubes

Just because its an alloy it doesnt mean that the weights have to be on the inside, some wheel makers recommend the weights are put on the outside to ensure proper balencing while other wheels dont have the lip for a knock on weight so have to either use stick on weights or all the weights are put on the inner lip of the wheel.

Sorry to sound boring but wheels and tyres are my job :-)
