A-Plan are not the only inconsistent insurers out there. Several members are insured with companies that told me they don't do imports.
NU told me first off that they don't. Now I'm fully comp for £549.00 ( probably cos I'm a relatively old git!)

No it is the operatives that don't have a clue as you say. I have seen posts about Liverpool Victoria who have also said they don't do imports - which is also bull 'cause I was insured with them as well!

have you tried Adrian flux - they do imports (and their own recovery for about £35)

I had zero no-claims (company car which meant i lost all my no-claims)
