I'm on the spare PC now. Hopefully can recover some of it. Loads of photos of kids and offroading, ALL my business stuff. etc etc

If you can get a raid array your data can be mirrored across two Hard drives, if 1 dies you haven't lost the data.

Failing that time for a back up plan.
