  • Whose into scuba ?

Well I know theres radio amateurs out there, wondering if anyone else has got the scuba diving bug ?

The joys of diving in a muddy puddle near Peterborough or Leicester with poor visibility and low temps brings a tear to my eye and the odd ear infection

    Regards

Sumo is mad for it as much as he is for mud!

I prefer sticking to warmer climates when I dive

      Scuba scuba scuba!

Ah, the joy of wrapping myself up in tight neoprene, throwing myself into the freezing briney, and hoping one day to see my genitals again. The pleasures of british diving.

That's why I bought the Surf, to cart all my kit around. Remember the days before you took it up? When you used to have a spare room, and spare money?

And on a note about the cold, I'm off to Belize next summer, just to find out if it's true that you can dive without a drysuit, undersuit, hood, gloves, hot drinks, etc etc etc!

        Hey,

I'm a SCUBA fan.. Trouble is even though I live in the Cayman Islands, I don't get the chance to go diving very often, this crazy thing we have called a job.. Do get to drive my Surf a lot though, to work that is...

Oh the joys of !!!!ing in your wetsuit!

I learnt to dive in Cornwall where I was at school, Falmouth BSAC to be precise. Passed my 3rd Class at 14 and have been diving on and off ever since - more off than on now as I live in a landlocked country and didn't bring my own kit out from the UK.

I do a bit of diving, not done a lot recently though, trouble is, once you have sampled the waters of the Red Sea, UK waters don't really appeal that much!

Having said that I have had some superb dives in the UK. I used to share ownership of a small boat which we used to dive from, but now it's only occasional dive holidays.
              No longer a Surf owner.

I dive as often as I can (which is not as often as I'd like), First started when I was in the RN, so got quite used to mucky cold water. Took wife on a diving honeymoon in Malta 10 years ago and both ended up PADI advanced open water (I just did the courses for the fun of it). Thought about the instructor route and would still like to do that someday.

There`s nothing like doing a dive at Stoney Puddle just before christmas and then going down to that restaraunt by the lights on the way back to Lutterworth to warm up with a beer or three...

But what fun having to help young lasses out of wet rubber outfits or is that the fetish scene creeping into my mucky mind....

I've been kown to thrash about underwater.... then someone takes their foot off my head and I'm fine.... Have been diving on holidays abroad, really don't fancy diving in UK although I know some places are lovely and have very interesting sea life.Learnt at Horsea, Portsmouth in March a couple of years back. Anything after that is warm. Warmest water I've dived in was in Dubai, 32 degs. Like being in a warm tub... No suit required.!!!
Had enough... going to live in Spain....

I'm a keen diver and looking for a buddy actually. PADI MSD and Divemaster. BSAC Extended Range. NSS CDS Cave Diver. Been to Stoney with students more times than I care to remember. Not dived in the UK for a while, as Cave Diving is my thing now. Miss diving at Weymouth and Swanage. The Surf is the ideal dive wagon.

Ah the joys of vaccume packing yourslf in neoprean and gloves so thick you cant feel a thing and the refreshing burst of ice cold Leicestershire quarry water, its enough to make your eyes pop out and your adams apple to aquire 2 more lumps.
I only qualified in febuary but I been practicing as much as I can,and now the extentions finnished it means that I may have enough money this year to get out to warmer climbs (I'll take the wife and kids if I have to),but untill then its stoney and gulternburg (peterborough) for me.......
If the puddles to deep..LEARN TO SCUBA.

Yet another Cert Card in the post this morning :-)

Received my PADI Rescue Diver cert card in the post this morning, shame I'm out the water till further notice or the doctors give me the all-clear.

For those who I didn't bore at Devil's Pit, I've had 5 sessions in a decompression chamber, 2 at the pot at St John's Wood and 3 at the chamber at Whipps Cross, Leytonstone, in total 20 hours being decompressed, had a PFO check which came back as a suggestive hole in the heart

Most people I've spoken to have said "give it up" but being the stubborn git that I am, I'll probably be back in the water in a couple of months awaiting another chamber ride an hour later...

Not had chance to test the Surf with my dive kit, cos I know if I loaded it up, I'd be off to find a puddle to play in.

                          Andy

Maybe you should take the hint, it must be so much fun diving with you! Think of your dive buddy and those around you. I wouldn't want you on my boat!

I think I'm missing out on a good time here, what with all the sado masochism by making your eyes pop out and doubling your adams apple, let alone freezing your nuts off. To think of all that rubber/neoprene wrapped around your body. What a bluddy turn off.....
