  • 31",32" 33".....275/60 0r 65x16" I,M Confused!

    Hi There,
I want to fit some MT,S to my new surf - gen 2. All of my local 4x4 tyre suppliers look at me as if i come from "MARS" when i start talking about 31,32,33" .What can i get away with without body or suspension lift ?
One member did mention that there is a table on the site somewhere compairing metric to imperial sizes. I like the idea of 265/75x16 but what does this equate to in the inch sizes? I am sorry if i sound like a clown over this but i just cannot get any sense locally & just end up more frustrated as what to go for. I know you guys are the experts on this subject, so if some one could guide me in the right direction i,d be real grateful. Thanks

Hi, before the elders jump on you for not using the search facility I'll just give you the answer.

You can fit 31x10.5r15 at most on a standard 2nd Gen.
You can get away with 32x something POSSIBLY I have heard in the past with different offset wheels but there are mixed reviews which inlude people just accepting some rubbing somweher so I'd avoid that if I were you.
You MUST have a 2" suspension lift AND 2" body lift to fit 33x12.5r15, I tried yesterday with just a 2" suspension and it is not enough.

    Welcome to the forum,

    Ray.
I've got a plan and it's as hot as my pants!

      LOL!!!!

yeah, remember your standard 2nd gen Surf has 15" rims, not 16".
So you are looking at 31/10.5/15 as a 'standard' size.

I went for Kumo Road Venture AT's (71's I thimk) and they looked GOOOOOD. they are 70/30 road/mud and for me were great.

Do you have any rubbing at all with that setup?
I have a 2" body lift, a 2" suspension lift, 33x12.5" BFG Mud Terrains, 32mm offset 15" steel wheels and until I cut my valance and took off my mud guards I couldn't even drive it and still I get tons of rubbing on the foot well!

I think the offset is too far out as I'm well clear of the chassis rails.

          Thanks,

          Ray.
