  • Tyre advice

99% of my milage is on road, with the other 1% on farm tracks / fields.
Which standard size tyres would be my best bet?

Needs to be good on wet / muddy roads & not to noisey.
I don't mind spending a bit more for a good quality tyre.

If you dont mind spending a bit more for what you need it'll be BFG A/T tyres all the way I reckon.
Last an incredibly long time and will do you very well on and off road.
Stick with standard size if you are mainly on road or absolute largest 31x10.5 15

You could stick to road tyres but A/T's will allow you to decide to go out on the occasional offroad foray if you ever fancy

      BF Goodrich AT TA.
Excellent in the wet & off road with very little road noise + you will get fantastic millage out of them if you don't abuse them, i.e wheel spinning & hard cornering.

General Grabber AT2s. I can't wear the buggers out even when doing burnouts!

          Thanks for the advice.

I'm going to go for the BFG All Terrain T/A's, 265 70 R16.

I've only had one quote so far at £160 each, fitted.
          Does that sound about right?

A bit much IMO, I'd be looking at 130 fitted.

              Thanks Fordy

There's only one tyre company where i live that does BFG, guess they think they've got me over a barrell
I'll see if they'll do them for £130 fitted, or I'll order them from Camskill

I got my 33s from a guy in Nottingham (check the 'tyres' section, he's in there) for about £125 I think.

<edit> Having seen where you are, Camskill are probably a better bet. A lot of members (including me) have had tyres from them. Very reliable, and good price.

I do bang on about this a bit, but you don't need ATs.

Get BFG Long Trails. They are cheaper than ATs and much more suited to what you want them to do.
