BFG Muds on-Road?

Do BFG Muds give a harsher/more jarring ride on-road than any A/T or road tyre and more road noise?

If so......

May consider swopping my BFG Muds for A/T's or even Road tyres. Trouble is that they seem to be INVINSIBLE - just refuses to wear and the tread pattern/depth is like the Grand Canyon, so I may be stuck with them for a while.

BFG M/T's and other high quality, non-remould M/T's are made of fairly hard rubber compound and will wear quite well. It also makes them noisy and 'slippy' in the wet. You might be advised to get another set of cheapo A/T tyres for the summer. Save the wear & tear on the expensive BFG's?
