  • What tyre size and from where????

I have been looking at the Kumho's and the BFG's and they don't seem to do 265/70 R16's but both do 235/85R16 120Q which are an inch bigger 3.7% will these fit a standard 3rd Gen? I am thinking they may be a bit skinny?
BF's come in 265/75 R16 about the same overall dia as the 235's,
    ???

what size should I be looking at, the Kumho's seem kinda limited in sizes!!

Where is the best place to buy?

    Cheap!!

265/75/16 is a good size, I wouldn't personally go too much narrower as you run the risk of making your truck look Naff - IMHO

If your planning on lifting it at all, If you can hold back on tyres till its done, It will be worth it to avoid forking out for larger tyres!

Not planning on lifting anytime soon, too many other bits need buying and in standard form they seem pretty good off road, so that size will fit a standard 3rd Gen?

        Hi,
I think the 235/80/16 will fit fine on a std. 3rd gen. as its normally the width of bigger tyres which causes rubbing and catching problems. That size stands at 31.72" tall so you gain a bit of real ground clearance. I dont think it will look stupid with narrower, taller tyres but you may need wheel spacers or a deeper rim so they are not set too far inside the arches.

So the golden question is do 265/75R16 MT's foul the arches on a standard 3rd gen bearing in mind the extra tread??

Nope, they should fit fine an dandy.

Just because it has a larger depth tread the overall diameter is exactly the same.

How do you tell what the overall diameter of the tyre is?

place a ruler from one side to the other passing though the middle point, make sure one side is lined up to zero and read off the number that lines up with the other.
