Linda's 31's were pushing 35k (miles) before we got the 33's. They had plenty of tread left on them, about 5-6mm easily.

One had ovaled on the tread, causing a bit of vibe at speed, but the other three were fine, so it became a spare. I put it down to lots abuse towing heavy trailers, and airing down to 15-10psi when offroading.

We were more than happy with them.

The cracks are age and UV damage, they've been on the truck along while, or its sat in the sun for a long time.

Its up to you to decide if they go deep enough to cause a problem, small ones are fine.

There's an age code on each tyre. No tyre should be used after 6 years (I think), so maybe your tyres are just old, and hence the cracks..

(The 6 year thing could even be a check in the MOT soon!)
          It just does, OK?

Just checked my Boggers and M/T's on the other trucks, I'm OK, they are all over 6 years old!

I'm well impressed with my new General ATs (but haven't taken them through any mud yet). I do miss the white writing from the old BFGs though - and I'm sure they look a bit smaller!

There IS white writing on the sidewalls of the Grabbers! Your fitting shop must have put the writing on the inside!!! Go back and get them to swap the tyres round!!

My place asked if I wanted the writing on the inside or outside..

Hey - I've got 'that' white writing - It's just not as obvious as on the BFGs. Considered painting in the letters - but that would just be sad right?!
