Yeah got them on my pickup and i'm well impressed. Loads of grip wet/dry on road and off, very quiet and top value.

Some before and after pics on HPOC here

Got them on my Surf, but not the same size. I've got 265/70/16s on.

VERY god tyre, but they did take a few hundred miles to settle. I thought I'd made a BIG mistake when I first got them, cos it was very low on grip, even in the dry, but once the tyres had done a few miles (heat cycles, perhaps?) they're great!!
      It just does, OK?

        Hmmm I'm torn now!

BFG all terrains or General grabbers?

Grabbers are cheaper and by all accounts as good as BFG's????

I dont do a lot of off roading, but when I do, I need something good (dont we all?) I also do a lot of towing! any one know If the BFG's or Grabbers would be best on tarmac?

        Decisions decisions!

Thanks for the opinions though guys

LOL, you're at exactly the same point i was a couple of months ago!
I dont think there's much between the tyres on or off road to be honest - the reviews i've seen show the AT2's as good if not better at everything than the BFGs. The BFG's cost almost twice as much though which was the decider for me in the end and the AT2's look a bit more aggressive in the flesh. Some reviews here if you're still not convinced...

As above, I've got the AT2's, but I will say that the BFG's have tri-wall protection (or something like that!) and as a result, the side walls are a lot stiffer, especially good for towing caravans, apparently..
            It just does, OK?

I guess i'll just have to weigh up how many times i do actually tow a year and would it justify the extra cost for the BFG's which are still the benchmark to aim for!

I was just about to go on the Roughtrax site!!

Think I'll sleep on It, then tomorrow they will have sold out and thats gonna make my mind up!

                Cheers

BFG's used to worth the extra £'s over the Grabbers, but not had any experiance of the new ones yet, others have said they've stepped up the game.

Personally, I think the BFG's have slightly more aggresive pattern, with bigger gaps along the tread edge, and looks like it will work better in the mud, but the Grabber has more siping on the blocks, so should work better in the wet on tarmac, but the down side of this is it will chunk easier when offroading.

For just £5 extra a tyre I'd probably stick with the BFG's for now if i wanted a non-M/T tyre.

Thanks for the input Tony, I have to agree If they were the same price I would go BFG every time, but even at £5 a tyre more than the equivalent General Grabber (ie. £56+vat ) I would be a buyer!

Where can I get them at that price??

                    Cheers

I've just been quoted £90 + VAT per grabber AT2 incl balancing + valve (from Wasties round the corner from you in Carterton). I've got BFGs on at the moment and have started to get loads of vibration. They are saying it's because of tread separation and I need new tyres (no point balancing the old ones). I was hoping the BFGs would last me a bit longer ....
                      where's this bit go then?

They've lasted me a year and about 7,000kms - only had the truck that long. Can't say I've noticed any wear in that time. I like them and was well pleased to find truck with them on - did notice some fine cracks around the tread when I bought it though (and they haven't got any worse in a year!)

The Grabbers from Roughtrax are supply only, so It's difficult to get a fair comparison, I have to say not sure what their delivery charges would be??

I never thought to go to Wasties, but I have a friendly tyre fitter in Wtney
also a BFG supplier, but i havn't asked him for a deal yet!

Just out of interest how many miles had your BFG's done?

                            Thanks

no idea how they'd been. Truck had done 113,000 when I bought it. Perhaps I should talk to your friendly tyre fitter in Witney about my 'tread separation'
