  • Wood\Carbon Dash Kit

    Hello fellow Surfers!

just bought a '93 2.4 Surf today (Blue) and plan to spend the remainder of my loan (not very much, unfortunately!) on some accessories. Saw these on ebay and was wondering if anyone had fitted one? Maybe you might even have some pics??

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...910292043&rd=1

Also, anyone know where I could get a cover for the boot to prevent unwanted eyes peering at my valuable tools.

    Cheers!

Have a search here on the forum, we have a member who manufactures and sells wood, carbon etc dash kits for the Surf, can't remember his name.
Some time back load covers were available from Hilux Bob I think it was. Try a post in the parts wanted section.

Thanks Maurice, it's Davey Knowles who was selling these on this forum and on ebay. Just wanted to see if anyone has purchased one and what their experience was like.

Silver or Carbon Fibre look better - just my opinion though.

          Cheers

Have to say, I've got original Toyota wood look in mine and good as it is, you can easily see that its not the real thing. If a car has real wood, thats great (lovely burr walnut in my last Jag ) but if its not gonna be real I'd rather not have it. I'd prefer a carbon look in my Surf anyday.

Looking like I might be the guinea pig so......

I'll definitely be ordering carbon fibre rather than wood! Will send in some pics etc once its been ordered and fitted.

Very interested in this thread - the blue interior of my new baby needs to be broken up a bit and I plan to fit a brushed aluminium kit.

I'm sure you'll be more than up to the job, Sherrif - you'll have to be if you're going to let us all know how you got on once you're done!

Mine won't be for a while yet - my exhaust has holes all along it's length. Small, but enough for me to fail the NCT (realised before test, so rescheduled). That's a complete exhaust at €430 from Milners... (unless anyone can tell me different? )

If I get to do mine before you, I'll take pics as I go and post for all.

The kit is 19 stickers. Once applied you can really tell they are stickers, and since it's simple 2d cutout there are moulded places/corners where it's just visibly wrong, doesn't stretch to the shape or shows unfinished edges. It's good idea if your interior is in really bad shape, full of scratches and knocks othewise after few very hot days and few very cold mornings it will start to look like slightly worn and peeling interior of chavs Fiesta on McDonalds parking lot...
