yes a very nice peace of kit
they just dont hold up too well in water any how
          buggers the diffs gearbox
beathers only slow it down on them
me and my mate teasted em
they seep water in by the hub ends
so no matter wat you do lr diffs dont last hence why they are very cheap

            NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

LOL oh man, i never knew you could do that!

i was actually stuck in that hole not because of the water, but because of the ruts to be honest. didn't use the winch from there either, got pulled out backwards! fair enough the old V8's dont like water much, but a little bit of bike innertube and some zip ties can sort most of the problems out!

FYI i wasn't slating anyone in my early posts either, and think that my range rover is worth £2500 minimum, and you can pick up gen 3's for that at the moment.

if someone with a gen 3 was just getting the offroad bug, but didn't have time or money to kit theirs out, then i think a swap for my Bob would be worth it.

also, Judwalk, if water seeps through the oil seals in your diffs, then it must have pretty naff oil seals! the only reason i have had to change a diff was when i blew the spider gears to bits!

i've had it in the water loads, and never had any water in either the axles, or gearbox/engine!

i tried to put my reg into google too, but nothing came up.. should it have done?

also try typing in 'new look lada niva' into youtube. someone caught me on camera at boxgrove a few months back.. and before you start, its the car infront of mine that is the new look lada niva, not Bob..

and every picture in his photobucket is there (nice dog!)... it just made me chuckle that he's slating people on his first few posts and there is his ride stuck !!

I never said he used his winch ... just folks will think that...not my fault!

I won't say what happens if you put his reg into google....

                    cheers matey,

when i built my diffs up with the lockers in, i did change the seals, so maybe thats why they didn't leak..

                    who knows!

Curly like all forums we have those who think their a step above, and some who are just ignorant. Please try and get past them and don't let them put you off what is in general a helpfull pleasant forum.

yeah, it was me, just that i never go on LR4x4 and the bloke i bought the bobtail from before it was bobtailed is like a big head honcho on that site, so i thought it might have been him, but i did find it in the end!

that glowing thing with numbers on it is a powerball! they have a gyro thing in them and if you rotate your wrist then it spins it really fast and its really hard to do it! like a workout! have a look at this bloke doing it:

                              http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0v05iaYZC0

he looks like he's going to explode when he gets it really fast!

its a great bit of kit actually, buy it and have a go..
