    Is the noise when the truck is moving or stationary? Is it definitely from the front diff, or could it be further back or out to one side?
    The noise is only when moving, its definitely coming from front,maybe front side

    The engine went into the red once 2 years ago ,it never uses water or oil & hasn't overheated since but I did need a repair to the header tank on Rad. because it was bursting at seams

      Have the cooling system sniff tested, then take it from there.

      I suppose it's possible for the diff to be knackered, but it's more likely to be a driveshaft or a bearing. Get a 2nd opinion.

        Thanks for the help, Do you know where I can get a sniff test in Glasgow ? Is it a Rad shop job ?

          Any garage will be able to do it for a few pounds.

          The sniff test checks for combustion gasses in the coolant, can't remember if I said that before.
