They have always looked a bit "pricey" to me, but that may be justified by the quality of trucks they bring in. I really dont know. ( Can I assume that you are a man of limited patience?)

        its as follows:
£350 fee (refundable if you don't buy)
you give them an On The Road Price (say £5k) and they send you lists of trucks that meet the criteria. If you want one, they examine it, send photos and info on all aspects of thevehicle. If you like it and make an offer, they pass that on for you (either at auction or dealer) and its yours if its accepted. You then pay them the vehicle price (into a brokers account) and on import to the UK you pay the rest. They do ALL the mot / import docs on arrival in the price quoted.

The ONLY change in cost at the end is any fluctuation in the $ price which could add a couple of hundred to the bill.
You DO take the risk of the truck being damaged at sea, or lost to a somalian pirate!!!!

but, you are first owner, low miles, no salt rot from grit, unlikely to have been off road etc.

and after all, ALL (most) the vehicles we buy and sell here are originally imported anyway, so its all the same really!

Mine came in via them, though I bought it from a dealer in St Helens. Must admit it was absolutely pristine when I got my hands on it.

Ours came from Algy's. I had to wait a while for them to source a manual. It's been a great truck, all as described on the tin. Six years on, all that's been required (with the exception of 'the incident') was a new clutch.
            Good hunting.

I used them to import my truck and have been very pleased with it. At the time I felt they could have offered more advice on UK road tax but in fairness they are not tax consultants and anyway DVLA were in a 'make it up as we go along' phase at that time.

If minimising road tax is important my advice would be to ensure that the vehicle is more than 10 years old when you register it in the UK, even if that means storing it for a few months. That way it does not have to go through an SVA test and so no CO2 figure will be presented to DVLA at the time of registration. This leaves them, I believe, with no option but to treat it as a standard vehicle (but knowing the DVLA they are likely to fill that loophole sooner or later). If it is less than 10 years old then the SVA test will result in DVLA getting a CO2 reading and they WILL use it to maximise their tax hit on the vehicle owner.

                Superb Service

Imported my 1996 3 litre SSRG from Algys nearly 6 years ago, the vehicle still looks and drives as good as it did then. I would'nt hesitate using them.
I emigrated to Spain 3 years ago and imported the Surf, so its seen 3 Continents, the only down side to this is the cost of parts. Last year I changed the front brake pads, 136 euros from Toyota Main Agents, Air Filter 46 euros, Fuel filter 36 euros, Oil 7.5 litres 72 euros. So I now get bits and pieces posted out, and save a fortune.

I thought I would go the ALgys route, when I was looking for a 3rd Gen, but ended up buying a private sale at 3K, with 110,000 miles on the clock, that was local. Saved my self about 2K. This was about 18 months ago.

Apart form normal stuff like tyres, and exhaust, it's been faultless and I'm now at 126,000 miles and still going strong. We have now just got ourselves a caravan, so the miles will start to pile on, but now worries it's a Toyota !!!

                  Keep on Surffing..

i think i may give them a try as there are not many 3rd gens in the 10-11 year old bracket for sale in the uk
