These vehicles are nearly all 20 years old. I would not be surprised to see rust on the underside components of any 20 year old vehicle. My 1st gen is 32 years old and I will be chasing the rust bug out before I can get it back on the road !!

True, but I think mine is exceptionally bad, I suspect a PO used it near the sea. My Hilux is 3 years older and was far better underneath, even though I suspect it was never really cared for (before I got it!)
