Tow hook (pass side)

Tow hook or RATED recovery hook ??

I have the former but not the latter

Would rather a rated recovery hook but was thinking that 2 tow hooks would be ok if used at the same time? The hook thats on the truck has a spring clip so would that be rated?

This chap on another forum has a view on these things:

"Following the logic of someone who insists against all evidence that a rated hook is the only possible safe point of recovery, I could presumably gaffer tape one to my wing mirror and be good to haul away on it."

Logically, isn't it where and how well you secure the hooks, not the hooks themselves?

They are the same rating as fitted on my original truck and never had an issue although i tended to use a bridle to spread the load.
