Hi, i checked that out too. I was wondering how any roof bars would fit & which ones I'd need. Checked out the link for make & model to make sure they were the right ones. Most helpful! Please tell me about the miss-spell app on ebay? I've never noticed that on there. A very handy tool i'm sure!

          Hi ya trouble.

I been doing the work thing & parent thing & calling out the breakdown recovery people!! Blooming car just suddenly died on me tonight. The man in the van reckons the battery is shot. Gotta wait & see if it'll start in the morning. Mo money, mo money!

As far as i was aware it was running fine this morning. Went to start it when i came out of work, the remote locking alarm disarmed ok, put the key in & turned for the glow plug, usual lights came on, glow light went off so turned the key all the way to start it & everything just went dead & all lights went off. Central locking & alarm wouldn't work either. First time it's done that. Usually starts first time every time so far.

Glad i got the breakdown included on the insurance. Got rid of the Landy cos it kept playing up, last thing i need is for this to start doing it!

Good to hear you've been keeping busy too!

                Morning!,
Sorry for not replying last night but my PC had a wee bit of a virus and it took a little while to weed it out, anyhow the spell checkers for ebay are a bit like this

                http://www.listedwrong.com/
                http://auctionspell.com/
                http://www.bargainchecker.com/

The last one isn't too bad and they do pull up some really good deals.
                Hope this helps

Oh and in regards to the roof rails as Rich said http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?im...%3Den%26um%3D1 but they do squish the door seal a bit but mine have been on for nearly two years and even with really bad rain dont seem to have distorted it enough for water ingress but they have discoloured a little patch (2/3in) of the paintwork where the door rests against them ..........all good tho.

                Hope this helps.

                Rob

I've got a set of Halfords roof bars from my last car - the feet seem ok for the Surf, and the bar length is fine - I just need to know which fitting kit I'd need - if Halfords even do one that would fit (2nd Gen Surf) - anyone know????

Sorry only know the kits for the Thule ones...could try phoning them and ask if they have one on the books for a 4runner? oh by the way did you ever get the interior lamps sorted?

The online Halfords roof bar selector thingy never works for me! I could nip in at some point today and ask I suppose...

The internal lamps - the blue led bulbs work fine in the central courtesy light - the kids love the blue light! I got the bulbs from the beep site but haven't ever got around to testing them... I'd like to get into the front courtesy lamps - the ones up by the rear view mirror, but failed to find a way in when I looked, and didn't want to damage anything by forcing it until I knew what to do....

The rear view mirror need to be prised off with a flat screwdriver from the screen side.Just push the s/driver in a bit and twist and work your way around and it'll come off. There is a small part in the centre that comes off also near the screen

Na unfortunately not yet Richard, the posties came up on Monday but wasn't holding out much joy on that delivery. That said they are back up again on Friday, so fingers crossed they have it as some normal sized packages have been through in a week (would be very chuffed if that was the case!).....other large parcels have been delayed for some reason though (one was a box full of about 20 haggis that had been couriered for burns night ...arrived the other week.....nuff said......smelly...... lol)
