Battery Terminal

Hi,

Has anyone got a spare battery terminal kicking around?

It's the "wraparound" type!

Camera is kaput or else I would get a pic.

Think it's the usual 2nd gen NEGATIVE ones cos they look pretty old.

Anyone know where I can get one "over the counter"?

Replacing it with a newer style one is going to be hard as I don't have enough spare cable.

Well in pharmaceuticals it means can be brought from a shop without prescription, so in this case I guess it means you can buy it over the counter at your local dealer

Yes, but the ones you can get 'Over the Counter' won't fit.

Replaced my mates volvo one. You can get a neg battery clamp at any motor factors. My local petrol garage even sells them off the peg.. About £3.

Use an angle grinder to cut your earth lead as close as possible to the old clamp. Then just strip it back, push it in and tighten the 2 grub screws. Job done.

I got 2 of them but when I went to fit them I don't have enough of the cable.

I need to get my claws on a "like for like" one as it's just a matter of swapping!

A "post" one could be used also I suppose!

The dude who owned the Surf before me must have trimmed the cable and left very little play!

Them "grub" screws look a little weak, how on earth do you get a good solid connection with just 2 screws?

I suppose if you fill the space up with solder!

Gary which cable has been cut to short as i may be able to get a cable from one of the breakers for you with a terminal connector aswell

It's the "Negative" on the drivers side!

Just the terminal would be great mate!
