  • rusty chrome 1994 chrome bumpers (L@@K)

Hi, I'm fed up trying to get a decent set of rear bumper ends for my smurf, so I'm looking for either

A set of rusty bumpers that I can get blasted then painted silver and do the arch extentions to match

    or

If I gan get upwards of 10 pairs, I can get these Vacuum metalised for £15 a pair ( I havent had a quote yet though for blasting)

I can weld in and repair holes after blasting, and due to the nature of vacuum metalising I can smooth the welds off with filler, unlike rechroming steel, metalising is more like powdercoating (but chrome finish) so filler aint an issue.

    Thanks guys

hmmm, roughtrax you say, are these going to be like brand new, will never rust again, and be £15 a pair?

The only new ones I could find on the net are £360 a pair...

I do the same with Mk1 Granada front fog light brezels, I strip them, and them send them in batches of 10 and it costs me £70 delivered back to me, I then either sell them for £30 a pair to mk1 granny owners, or I knock them out on egay for £150 a pair...

Now I know you could just pay £400 a pair from certain enthusiast I know, but in todays climate, I would rather pay £30...maybe its just me.

But thanks for your kind offer, its just lucky that the rear bumpers on Smurfs dont rust out, and if you are misfortunate enough to get a dent on one, they are so readily availabe

just hit up roughtrax, £74.50 each, not bad, but I could better that metalised by about £50 each.

          I reckon £15 to £20 each

btw, here is a vacuum metalised wooden guitar body

How much did it cost to get the guitar done like that?!

one off are cheap but not that cheap, I can get a pair of spot light brezels done for £45...because they have to bugger about and make a stand for them to do the process, but if I give them 10 to do its £70.

A singular guitar body would be about £45 to £55 notes.

Well if I could get enough rusty ends together, that are repairable (holes ok, edges rusted out no good) I could get a batch done and could be enough to go around every one.

guy who does mine can do up to around the size of a bonnet.
