yes i think i need a replacement rear differential mines whining a bit , the car is a 2.4 ssrx auto and the relevant number on the firewall is G144 which makes it a 4.875 ratio.If somebody has a decent one of these for sale please let me know as this hard working surf deserves it!

just curios,
here did you get the numbers from ?
in regars to the ratio,
i am breaking up a 2.4 ssrg with a limited slip diff,
no whines at all from the axle,
complete axle £125
the car has done 111,000 kilometres -
on the firewall at the back of the engine bay theres a plate on which it says trans/axle alongside which are two letter/number configurations, mine says A343F G144. The G144 bit is the relevant bit as it relates to the diff ratio,G144 means its a 4.875 ratio.Apparently!!!Comment

on the VIN plate there should be a number marked axle code, it's preceded by something else. In the case of an LSD it will be Gxx5
The first digit is a letter and will be a G which refers to the size of the diff (8.0"), the last digit determines the type of Diff (4pinion, 2pinion, LSD) and will be a 5 for an LSD. The middle 2 refer to the ratio.
