Yes if you want it to pick up a signal. No if you want it to work like the proper one did in regards to its retract/extend.

you will need a ariel to fit the wing of the surf but there are'nt many about that will fit so you will be better getting from a breaker or roughtrax

Ah yeah cool ... the ol' electric version is a wee bit flash i reckon ! prob get a rubber duckey only really listen to 5 live on mw anyway !
