  • Injector pipes needed

Does anybody know where I can get hold of the 2 rear (3 & 4) injector pipes for a 1994 SSR-X 3.0L TD?

    Ken.

They will be the same as for a UK 4 Runner so the Toyota place will have them, alternatively a decent diesel specialist should be able to make them up - it isn't rocket science if you have the right flanging tool.

    Cheers

      Thanks Lucky,
Have been on to my local dealer and should get them in 2 or 3 days. At about £18+ each I didn't think that was too bad and the parts guy wasn't fazed when I told him it was an import ( could be, as you say, they're the same for the UK model)

Yep the only difference in engine is that the UK one has the 1KZT engine and the import is a 1KZTE engine, injector pipes are the same, just the fuel pump and some of the vacuum circuitry and the ECU.

        Cheers

          Had the pipes fitted today.
Only problem was, when I picked it up it was belching black smoke, had no guts and a funny(?) knocking sound from the engine. Put this down, initially, to the fact that it had had the work done, was cold and the pipes were vibrating on one another. Five minutes later, got home and nothing had changed and the knocking sounded more solid than vibrating pipes so went back to garage and spoke to the boss.
Guess what? He reckons the mechanic has put the pipes on the wrong way i.e. pipe 3 to injector 4 and 4 to 3!
He's not very happy and I bet the mechanic won't be either, when he comes in on Monday.
That's a whole week without her now. I'm beginning to suffer withdrawal symptoms.

Got her back today, running like a dream! The pipes weren't put on the wrong way, apparently when the mechanic finished he found 2 (vacuum?) pipes unconnected, thought the boss had disconnected them when he checked it, so put them back on. As soon as he took them off again no smoke, no knock and as he said "now goes like stink".
