Fullly loaded with camping gear, kids and dogs. Calm sunny day with haze over the sea.

Is that the little ferry at Claonaig or the bigger one at Ardrossan?

My sister has only just moved back to Wales from Whiting Bay on the island. My annual jaunt to Arran is alas no more boo hoo......

Well spotted its Claonaig just down the coast from me. Cracking part of the world Arran, I used to bring climbing courses for a week each year. Great rock.

I had to catch the little ferry one Christmas (the big one was on strike).

My God, all the way past Glasgow, up to Loch Lomond, down to Claonaig.

The sea was rough and every wave that hit the front was leaking in through the doors. I was trying to gauge at which point I was going to jump off and swim for it!

        But Arran is beautiful.
