They'll have half the allotment to roam around in like the chickens.

Collected these this afternoon...(it's what the ducklings will look like when fully grown)

                Meet Jake and Elwood.

Received today. Thanks! City Link were a bit suspicious, but I think we got away with it.

What breed of duck are they? Jake and Elwodd look a bit like Cayugas.

When we get some more ducks here we were thinking of getting Cayugas as they lay dark green almost black shelled eggs - which would go with our green and blue egg laying chickens.

They are indeed Cayugas, they lay the black eggs at the start of the laying season, they get lighter/greener toward the end.

We have grey and black Araucana chickens too, plus some grey chicks and an incubator full of eggs due mid August.

We are going to get some more Araucanas soon although I like Cream Legbars too. Once those and the ducks have settled in I'm very tempted to increase our flock with a couple of Rheas. They are meant to make very good fox deterrents and will lay up to 30 very large eggs in a season (each egg being the equivalent of 8-10 chicken eggs). I'll just have to get used to very large omelettes for dinner.
