Hi Guys. Kinda newbie to Surf's, had a Pajero for over a year, and now can't wait to try out the surf... Trying to work weekend away with the missus. Daughter lives in Swindon, so we may stay there the night. Anyone now how far it is from Swindon to Amesbury???

According to my Sat Nav 37 mile, and an hour's drive, hows that ?
Take the A346 to Marlborough, then the A345 all the way until you reach the A303, turn left and the services are immediately on your left

Swindon to amesbury is a nice little drive, be sure to check out the stone circles at Avebury on the way through and also Silbury hill is worth a look.
May have to split this outing into two groups! Trev do you fancy doing the second convoy as I can give you MMap overlay for the route? And your sprayer thing.
(bet you still get lost! hehehe)
Andy can you bring your radios again mate?
Going up there tomorrow to reccy some new routes, but I will include the old favourites, Land Warden permitting.
As for gear to bring, COATS as it was !!!!!! cold and trying to snow up in Andover - Amesbury this morning. Camera, and as Andy said dinner money as we'll be going to the pub for lunch. They let kids in so no worries there.

Sat Nav has to go into the hands of Halfrauds - the in-car charger is munching fuses
Will let you know tomorrow on my Navigational status.

Mine did that Trev, right before it blew the charging circuit in the PDA! Hopefully have it back before next weekend, complete with spangley new GPS antenna!!

An update, the 3 stooges at Halfrauds have replaced the charger
If required I can lead 1/2 the group providing you supply the overlay, but can I ask that I have Pops in my half, and that he too is supplied with the overlay (backup for yours truly who will have an offroad virgin as co driver!!).
Just come back from a recce. OMG its VERY slippery! PLenty of water and muddy bits.
Yeah no problem. I'll email it to you when I've done it. Can you send them by IR or bluetooth link? Just I'm not sure if Pops' PC is working properly or not yet?
Found a couple of new possible routes but, got lost in the process. Hmm. Need to get my GPS sharpish! Also on my own so I was being cautious.
For those who have been before, I went up to the MOD offroad driving centre about 3pm to find LOADS of 4x4's giving it the large one. Yes thats right the bit WE got kicked off!!..............Mind you it was an organised club day! Now theres something to arrange!
