YOU talked me out of doing the 2nd pipe, telling me it was a long drive home if I broke anything......
BTW if any of you boys are interested, I'm probably going back to Drumclog for the 9/10th, for a one nights camp and a 2 day play.
So go ask your wife's if you can have two consecutive weekends out with your offroad mates. I'll hold my breath........................ ..............私のホバークラフト は鰻が一杯です。

I plan to do the trip up north, once I have the navara I will trailer up the surf with the navara and that way if I break something it's not a major problem. It's due end of oct so would the spring event be the best bet or is there another one sooner?

I know we go on about how tough it is, but you only break it if you drive like a numpty. There's plenty to do without getting aggressive.
I and many others drive there and back, the guys who tend to trailer their steeds are ones that aren't road legal.
Jess and Dixie both drove theirs from "douwne soutff".
Mind, it would probably save you a fortune on petrol...私のホバークラフト は鰻が一杯です。

There is plenty of easy areas and no need to drive the really mad stuff, always another way round. In truth more than half the regulars have never driven some areas, they just watch us dafties, take pictures and laugh
If you break there is enough of us to get you sorted, we normally have gennys, welders and plenty tools with us. We can also soruce bits and bobs normally.
I would bring spare half shafts for the surf, no point driving all that way to end up with a v8 2wd Then fill the rest of the boot space with, beer, beer, beer and maybe a sleeping bag.
We are now a full registered MSA Club Ross so a membership would be needed for insurance however, we have managed to keep this down at £10 per year. No need to be a member to use forum but to attend the SMC organised events, currently 3 weekend events per year. You will need a membership card.Last edited by yoshie; 1 October 2010, 10:55.Brian

The reason I'm asking is, I want to know if its suitable for a "Shiny", or am I gonna have to bring the big guns.
This is a new route for all of us I believe and does appear to include some scratchy forested areas as well as a decent ford to cross (dependant upon the rain) and you will apparently need low range as well, according to the write up so nothing a surf can't cope with

OK guys, I might have to let you down but I'll know closer the time. I am selling my Hilux :-( bugger, I really don't want to but after looking at the children all squashed in the back the other day! I used to get away with it but they are growing at an alarming rate.
I thought I'd take the opertunity to sell it when I'm south so I have a little more choice in buying a replcment - a minibus maybe! I used to race motocross when I was much younger and have been thinking of racing again in the over 40 class. That or vintage enduro, I've always wanted a PE 250.
Least I helped get you lot together for some fun. Hey, I'll prpably still make it due to no sale on my truck. I listed it on the form a good few day back but it is not showing I imagine due to the hijack! It's on Ebay today and I do expect the pi$$ taken
Anyway, see you soon maybe?

Bad timing Mate, but it's only a week away so hopefully it won't sell before then.
Either way good luck with the sale

Deffo confirmed. Bringing my dad, a life long off road fan. Will bore you to death but good for a laugh!
Growler, will try and get your number off a mutual friend tomorrow.
Other than that, what route you taking out of Brum? I'm west of Kiddy, think Hagley/Stourbridge etc...is it possible to meet and all travel up together?"B.A." Baracus: "Talk to me, talk sense so I can talk back. Not all this jibberjabber like breaking the peace and all that."
