      Jap ‘n’ Jeep Jam - 12-13 June 2010

Jap ‘n’ Jeep Jam (National Off-Road Jamboree)
Sibbertoft 4x4 Centre, Welford Road, Sibbertoft, nr. Husbands Bosworth, North Northants/Leics LE16 9UJ. 6 miles east of Junction 20 M1.

For owners of Jeeps and all 4x4’s of Japanese/Korean/Indian origin, it’s the biggest and best value-for-money event of the year.

All “European 4x4’s” of Japanese origin also welcome i.e. Vauxhall Frontera, Ford Maverick, etc.

Costs are low for admission and camping, thus making it a little easier on the pocket as fuel prices are getting ridiculous!

Day admission £5 adult, child under 16 yrs free
      Camping per night (Fri/Sat/Sun): £8

Club Display Stands free of charge – why not have your club represented? If only a couple of vehicles, a gazebo and a photo board are on the stand, at least you will have a presence there. Camping is possible directly behind the display vehicles, thus making it ideal for folk to stay together in one place.

New this year will be a “Twist-Off Ramp” in the arena, a new off-road area called “Winch Wood” – ‘cause nobody has driven it so far – and stuff going on in the beer tent both Friday and Saturday nights. Sat night will be the big ‘un with a BBQ, when it gets dark a “Sound Off Competition” (just how loud and bling with lights & gismos is your truck?) swiftly followed by a disco complete with smoke/lasers/the works … plus the bar of course!

That said, don’t expect a ‘show’ as such with loads of trade stands, JJJ is a good, ol’ fashioned get-together weekend where the emphasis is on inexpensive off-roading and the club scene, not big traders with mega bucks displays. JJJ is for us enthusiasts, pure and simple.

A small but important update ...

        LATEST NEWS:-

Everyone is welcome in the beer tent to watch the England's opening game in the football World Cup against USA. Don't expect a massive screen however, but a 25" set should suffice especially if we are all huddled around it all cosy like!!!

Match starts at 19:30 so will finish around 9:15, just right for start of the disco and the arrival of the trucks for the "Sound Off Competition" who won't really get going until it's dark around 22:00ish.

Naturally the bar will be serving of course, plus there will be a BBQ if you couldn’t be bothered to cook your own.

Pace yourselves folks, have a feeling it's gonna be a long long night!

Simply turn up and pay at the gate for camping and/or day admission. It's all low cost so it won't be too much of a shock to the system. It annoys me that a lot of Land Rover shows now charge £14 day admission, JJJ is only £5 per adult, kids free. Why? Because they can! They have got so big folk feel they have to pay up or they’ll missing out on something, when in reality they are only paying extra for the surface trimmings and excessive greed. Grrrrr, makes you wanna spit!!!

JJJ is different, it's an event for us enthusiasts. It's purposely been kept low key, so rather then hire in expensive entertainment, we create our own so don't need to charge exorbitant prices for entry/camping. Another Hilux club for instance is supplying and operating the Twist Off Ramp - perhaps the Hilux Surf forum could do something similar next year? We’ll see, but for now simply a line up of Surfs would be good … and maybe a banner or photo board? That would be even better. Up to you entirely, just an idea to promote yourselves.

Smego will tell you what we're about, having fun without breaking the bank!!!
