Shame about the head Bibs, just spent a week worrying about mine. Thought it had blown but i think it was a false alarm.
Looks like some are up for next weekend but we can always aim for a second outing in Jan.
SO
Firstly, has any of us got any laning experience.
Secondly, does anyone know any routes.
Thirdly, bit of outdoor cooking sounds great, we could all pack some gear and grub.
Now, if we can just nail the first two points and agree the 19th and a meeting point then can we start a list for attendees so we can be sure there is enough interest.
The only place I know where a group of vehicles could easily meet in the north wales/cheshire area is the McD's/Subway at Northrop on the A55 unless anyone knows somewhere better. If anyone knows of any lane routes in this area the we are nearly there.
I will start the list- halfBREEDP (mark)

I'd be up for the 19th or 20th if i can book it off work. I enjoyed the trip out a few weeks ago and would like to it again. Sadly i have only been off road the once and therefore wouldn't know the 1st thing about route planning etc etc.
Regards

Looking on Google Earth
Half way between Mold and Ruthin there is a place called LLanferres.
Half a mile south on the A494 there is a right turn onto a road called The Nant.
It follows west and then doubles back on a hairpin north and eventually connects to the Bwich Penbarras road adjacent to some steep woodland which has a parking stroke picnic area.
From there there are various routes up through and around the woodland to the top to a kind of monument called Moel Famau.
Can someone else have a look and see what they think.
It all looks driveable on Google Earth. I have looked on line on an OS map and it is all marked with a green broken line which indicates road/track.
I have measured it and it would be around 11 mile up and back down again.
Panning north of this point there is another area of woodland that has lanes around it that could be worth a look.
The problem is that if you turn the roads layer on in google earth these lanes show up as rights of way but there always seems to be a section in the middle that is not highlighted and i am not sure if the right of way continues. In space no one can hear you scream

Its 80 each way for me so that makes me the second furthest away.
It doesnt have to be in north wales, i figured that was the original intention but we could go elsewhwhere. As nobody seems to know where to go for the best if anyone knows anywhere halfway between Wocester and Preston worth a visit lets go there.
I have tried to keep the interest in this goining and thought it was gaining some momentum, Is interest waning,
Here is the list of people who have expressed an interest and availability in Sat 19th
