Yep, count me in. Did Doctors Gate the last time and the big drop was a bit of a challenge. Went on to the mountain bike centre in Hamsterly Forrest and then up to Alston and then the cafe at Hartside (closed for the winter now though!).
Only need 3 trucks to turn up and we're away! Free most weekends, normally meet up in Wolsingham or Stanhope.
Check out some of the photos from last time.

Hi Jim. Never driven over the Doctors Gate but have walked it a time or two over the years and that was a challenge. Saw your pics from the last time, as I recall some mention of someone stuck well into the night. Sounds like fun but I need the ols Surf to get me to work and back every day so not too sure I want to risk breaking her. But yes I'm up for a bit of muddy fun so if you are looking for a day out count me in, but would have to be a Saturday. Too buisy money grabbing on Sundays at the moment.

The big drop at Doctors Gate is a bit hairy mate. The articulation on the truck last time was way scary! Might not try that drop again as my 33" tyres stick out past the wheel arches and I don't want anything to go bang! Once your past that it's a bit rough but nothing too wild and then it's a nice run up to Hamsterley Forrest.
The guys I was with last time reckon there's another way round the big drop, I'd have a look but no way do I go off roading alone.
There's no great rush mate. I might check out some decent green lanes when I have company. Will keep you up to date.'Tis better to sting than to be stung!

Had a short run over the tops from ireshopeburn to Langsdon beck that we did last summer a couple of weeks ago. lots of snow and ice, views were fantastic. nice cup of coffee in Middleton. all in all a very pleasant afternoon. but defo up for a bit more adventure as long as we have a bit of back uo to drag us out of the clag if needs be. lets try to get a few more out for a run, at the end of the day it hasn't got to be a ball breaker. so don't be put off guys off roading can be fun and it wont break your truck.
