anyone know anywere i can do abit of off roading in the northeast area i live in thornaby just outside stockton-on-tees

Alternatively arm yourself with a couple of OS maps and your local councils rights of way office phone number, and find a few 4x4 owning acquintances to take out with you either so you can pull them out or they can pull you out should you get stuck.

Keep an eye out over the next few days and i will begin to compile a national pay & play site directory too. (it's something i've been intending to do for a while, i'll get round to it at some point!)
