Realised the other thread was in general so started a new one here.

Thinking about meeting around m20 j8 so may aswell use maidstone services if everyone's happy with that. I'm guessing that's got to be about an hour from Thanet, is that ok with you Bob? Hopefully that's west enough for anyone coming from London/sussex, (GWH / joker??)

How about a date, does anyone fancy mid-week for the reccy or is it only me who has weekdays free? Or do i decide a date for the reccy and whoever can make it makes it. Then agree a date people can make for a run once we know what the lanes are like?

These are the first lot of lanes i wanna check out on the reccy.

sections on byway will be normal colour, road sections will be in red text, distances are a very rough estimate only.

Starting on OS sheet 148 at
maidstone services 824548 by road to 843555 - 3km take the short byway to 839559 - .7km
turn left towards 837562 Allington Fm - .3km
turn right and take the byway to 852575 Colyers Wents - 2km
by road to 870579 - 3.5km
take the byway to 865558 - 2.5km
cross the road and continue on the byway to 854546 - 1.5km
turn left and follow the pilgrims way to 875534 - 3km
by road to 894531 - 2km

so far that's 8.8km on the road to 9.7km on byways.

Onto OS sheet 137 and resume from 894531
continue along the pilgrims way to 900529 - 0.5km
902529 - 0.2km
back on the byway and follow it past the war memorial to 913525 - 1.2km
short bit of road to 916525, this was where we finished last year having come from the opposite direction - 0.3km
back on the byway to 922523 - 0.6km
cross the road and continue to 928518 - 0.8km
turn left and follow the byway to 933524 - 0.7km
on the road to 941527 cuckoo wood fm - 1km
pick up the lane and follow it right to 938517 - 1.5km
back on the road to 940505 - 2km
where we pick up the pilgrims way and follow it into charing village at 957498 - 2km
turn left and then right and follow the road to Burnt House Fm 967491 - 1.5km
follow the byway north to 979498 - 1.5km

a further 5km on the road and 8.8km on byways, so far so good but the lanes get a little more scarce after this, i'm still deciding the best way to go from here.

Weekends for me would be this weekend, sat/sun.

Following w/e is the dorking mudfest, and although i'm not going, i'm not gonna organise anything to clash with another forum meet. Plus i should be at woodlands.

W/e after is the norfolk meet i think.

W/e after that is the wales meet.

Brings us to 27th/28th October, i think i'm on a basic pyrotechnics course on the 27th, i'll have to check dates.

3rd/4th November is out, helping out at a fireworks display.

Which brings us to 10th/11th november.

Haven't got the winch yet, was waiting on sorting out the mountings before buying one. Would be good if you've got any suggestions for mounting although tbh i'm not too fussed at the moment, i haven't got the money to spend. If when i've got money coming in again 4x4 'r' us still haven't sorted a bumper then i'll be looking at getting something welded up.
