I have been doing more digging around regarding the use of the quarry and found the following:

At present the Health and Saftey Executive state issues in respect of using the quarry for other purposes. The quarry has only got permission for extraction and is in consultation on guidelines from the H&SE.

DP Williams Holdings official stance is 'No use' (this is very loosely stated and upheld)

I dug around some more and found that they lease the land from the Lord of the Manor, but the estate is managed by a group of solicitors in Stalybridge who I believe I have found on Yellow Pages website and will contact later on today for official news

      • Tried contacting the Solicitors on several occasions but feel as though I was getting the brush off by the Receptionist.

Evrytime I called I was told the guy was busy , phone back in 40 mins and then the next call phone back in 20 mins and same again for the third call.

        Will try next week.

GAZ Fridays are the busiest days for Solicitors so Monday would be better.
