But it was.
For the first time in my life, today I went off roading.
Went to Langdale Quest, (just missed out when everyone went earlier in the year) and had the time of my life.
Before going I had a lot of respect for my Surf, but wow I had no idea how capable she'd be off road. I really didn't think thay is it was possible for the grin to grow any bigger, but I think that it's doubled in size now!
Had a fantastic day, and I think that I may have caught the 'off-roading' bug at the same time.
Now I know what people mean when they say that they don't like to clean the mud off their Surf's.
The drive back from Langdale is about 100 miles, and I enjoyed every minute of it, having a properly 'dirty' car. I can wear my sticker with pride now!!
Met a fellow Surfer at Langdale who wasn't a member of the forum yet. Told him it was well worth it and he said that he was gonna join. Will have to look out for him and his better half in the near future.
Just wanted to share this with you guys. Has been the best day I've had in a long time, and I got to share it with my daughter and her friend and a couple of friends from work. Looking forward to going to the North Wales venue later on in the year.
Attached a couple of pics that I thought peeps might like. The odd one out is my mate from work (Adam), who had to endure one of the Langdale Quest hire 4x4s (funniest bit was how it kept filling up with water when they went through the water filled gulley's).
