  • Irish Meet - Curragh 20-Feb-05

Well a few of us got together today in the Curragh for a few hours of play.
JimL, Robbiecar, Robbies bro Johno, and myself met up with Tony & Linda.
We had plenty of ballast too in the form of Robbies Da, Johno's other half, and my other half Samantha.

Unfortunatly T & L had to head off to catch a ferry so they didn't get to play in the mud, but it was great to at least meet and have a chat with them. That 1st Gen of theirs looks great for its age, no doubt by the time they are finished with it, it will be a formidable beast.

    anyway, a few piccies...

The curragh, with Jim stuck in the distance, more on that later....

A wet bit that's deeper than it looks....

especially if your door seals are not as good as you thought.....

Front, rear or back! Arrrgggghhh I now have a 3" tide mark on my central tunnel!

But Jim's fine, the sun always shines on Jim..

Robbie, winner of most mud of the day....

Meanwhile his bro Johno heads for some more mud in a vain attempt to catch up

Actually Jim wasn't 100% fine, He had been blazing along, despite discovering that his 4 wheel drive would not engage after his recent gearbox change. Amazing what the surf can do with only 2 wheel drive. but eventually it caught up with him, leaving him hanging on a hill. This hill is quite a bit steeper than the camera angle shows....

Robbie to tthe rescue, doesn't even need his surf, he'll pull Jim to safety himself....

after all that exertion he just had to go and do some damage, last time we were out he bent his panhard rod, today the sump guard got it...

A great day had by all, far better than our last ranchous flatus (as Jim so aptly named it) outing.

Looking forward to the next, and hopefully to see Tony & Linda come over again and get their 1st Gen into a little Irish soil.
