  • Pingewood, Reading 29th February

29th Feb there is an offroad meet at Pingewood, Nr Reading, Berkshire.

It's open 9.30 am to 5pm and costs £20 per car (£15 to members).

It's an 11acre site with lots of water and mud.

Pics here from the last one..
    http://www.yotasurf.com/Hiluxsurf/re...8th_dec_03.htm

This event is run by Thames Valley 4x4 and they will have their club trailer with Rad washing facilities there, also a toilet. No food stall so bring sarnies...

    Full details here www.tv4x4.co.uk

BUT note the directions are slightly wrong - see below for correct directions...

DIRECTIONS:- Turn off the M4 at Junction 11 and head SOUTH towards Basingstoke. At the first roundabout, take the 3rd exit signposted Burghfield and Grazeley, then follow the road approx. 300yds and turn right into Great Lea.
This road you follow for about 1.5 miles which takes you back over to the north side of the M4 again, continue along until you come to a bridge over a railway line with traffic lights. Go over the bridge and take the 1st turning right (Cottage Lane) The site entrance is approx. 100yds on the right hand side.

Just to add having been here, it is no where like the pit.
85% of this place is do able on road tyres and the chance of damage are about 10% unless you drive it round like an idiot.
Just plenty of mud and water and a few gentle hills/slopes.
Say not always what you know, but always know what you say.

It is a bit tame and congested, but the pit is open on 29th feb also

We're going coz its close to home... its also a less tricky and technical place than the pit, so may be a nice intro for any newcomers scared of damaging their surf on the trickier terrain at the pit....
