A good day was had by all who came. The company was excellent as usual the urine was extracted from whoever deserved it. We even had a laugh at a Lame Rover that tried to go through a large puddle and got stuck, but as soon as Rick(sumo) accosted him for sutable funds for using the site he made his excuses and left. The course was very tame but if we had some more rain prior to our arrival it would of been challenging in a few places with some deep puddles to deal with.

Nigel managed to get his beast stuck within the first few minutes of playing after a few of the party got lost on route from Sumos gaff (must of been the Felixstowe water the night before). the day was eventfull throughout the day even to the last when Snoop went and washed his lights at the conveniantly placed washing facilities but didnt wash the radiator through and boiled up about 10 miles down the road (hope you got back ok)

And Pops did find it hard keep up with us youngsters so he had to lay down for a siesta

Thanks Rick and Angie for organising this event

You forgot to mention that he only left after I'd winched him out of the puddle

On the subject of winches, what is it with V8 pickups and muddy puddles? Is there some sort of fatal attraction? Answers on a postcard please By the way I think photo 3 deserves a caption. Answers of "Hellllllp, helllllllp" will not be accepted.

Thanks to Sumo for a great day out and to the cooking crew for lunch

Just got back... what an eventful day...

First off, before I do anything else I must thank the Sumo's for organising, the chefs for doing all the cooking in todays heat and Tim, Koi and Pops et all for stopping later in the day. What a top bunch you all are.

Secondly - a great days offroading, a couple of times on the absolute limit of having to call for help but each time we managed to get out of it. Apparently I found the limit of the clearance with side steps too as we have a nice curved one now!

Thirdly, I think we found the limits of the SDV.... a full days puddle dipping and not washing out the radiator before attempting to blat home (what a ) . I have a habit of looking at the oil temp thinking it's the water temp and today it looks to have cost us dearly. 10 mins after setting off for home it was in the red before I noticed and my first sign was loss of power then a puff of smoke out the back and by then it was all over

I think it's done serious internal damage unfortunately - my guess a melted piston, as it's firing on 3 pistons and stinks of exhaust gases when its turned over.

Excellent day (and night b4) . Good site , very good company , and for us (The Jottos and me and Tam) a pleasent trip home . Thanks to Mark for the heads up regarding the accident on motorway so cross country to avoid it . A very big thanks to the Sumo's for orginising this event and for Jon and Koi for cooking , I now seem redundant from the Catering Co.

Piccys tommorrow as I can not be ar$ed to do it now .

PS , Snoop and Lottie , we passed your motor but saw Nigel and Pops heading back for you . Glad you got back but shame it sounds bad for the engine .
