RUPPs..... Roads Used as Public Paths,A line of green +++ on a O/S map These have been reclassified as Restricted byways Restricted Byway And have NO vehicular access.

BOATs.... Byways Open to All Traffic, Normally has just a sign saying BywayAlso a line of green +++ on a O/S map. These can be driven provided there is no TRO in force.

ORPAs.....Other Routes with Public Access,These are green dots on 1:25,000 Explorer maps and red dots on 1:50,000 Landranger maps. Responsible user groups believe these are vehicular. However, the legal situation is complicated and as such most Highway Authorities are unable to confirm that they are vehicular. If in doubt avoid them.

TRO......Traffic Regulation Order Basiclly a closure can be temporary or permanent.

    ETRO ......Experimental TRO

It has most likley been changed to a Byway , if there is no TRO and you are still unsure contact the Rights of way deparment of your county council who can advise you of the status of the route.
