    This is a pickup right?

You'll need more than that, 9"+ at least, plus change of gearing or a V8 to turn them.

Plus crossover steering, traction bars, hi angle UJ's, etc, etc....

    shall I go on...............?

Big job if its gonna stay driveable. What are the plans?

The plan is to get it as high as i can (38" wheel being the max) yet drivable on the roads so i might have to go with what i'v got and put 35" on.

It well still be over sized and looking great tho,

Next part of the plan is to go out and find a really big bog (with other hilux'ers) and play till some thing bracks.

I think its a good plan

You can get 44" tyres you know.

35's are big enough for most wheelin' in the UK, any bigger and you'll be breaking things a lot.

Think 35" Mud Terrains, welded front diff (if you have free wheeling front hubs), bobtailed bed, 2" body lift, 4"ish springs and extended shackles.

I'm gonna move this thread to the non-Surf stuff. Before the natives get restless. as there is nothing in here to do with a Surf.

Yeah, like what? If anyone has a pre-86 4Runner or Surf some bits are the same, and last count that was only me!! hehe.

And the only response was from me as well!

Just keeping the forum tidy. What we're talking about has far more in common with the Zuki's down here in the basement. Surfs don't even have leaf springs like our pickups. (apart from Sumo's or Fenmans rears, but they are slightly different as well, being IFS on the front)

Its cool, this forum needs more non-zuki threads to even the score a little, they tend to take over if left alone here.

The only way to find out about stuff is to do it, break it, then do it better. You can never learn everything just by reading stuff posted on the 'net, info gets distorted like chinese whispers as its read by someone, then they tell someone else, etc...... part of the fun is doing it yourself.
