Renault Clio glow plug light problems

Hi all, Mrs Bob has a clio 1.5 dci, and recently the glow plug light has been staying on even after the engine is running, and then will go off randomly, but will come back on when the brakes are applied.

I've checked the renault forums, and although glow plug light faults of simiar desciptions seem very common, nob ody has yet come up with a solution.

I hope there is somebody that can shed some light on this, because if the clio breaks down, she'll nick my surf!

michelles clio had a dodgy glow plug but it threw the emissions light up. changed the plug and it comes and go's now so we just left it for now!

Hi dirtydog, yep the light's gone out again now, without doing a thing.
I'll keep an eye on it and try to find some more info, maybe from renault.

I googled some of the lights on the Clio.... the answer to the meaning of them was "you own a renault!"

its probably a sensor being extra picky about something.
