  • steering wheel removal ?

    hi i have brought a new steering wheel and can not remove the old one, ive removed the cover undone the nut no probs, but the wheel will not move ive tried ,with two bolts in to the wheel and a piece of metal being pressed onto the hub to act as a press but still nothing is there any circlips etc or am i being kermit? thanx inadvance gavin...........

    The manual says to use a steering wheel puller as it looks like it must be on a taper fitting. Might be worth trying a local tool hire shop unles Halfrauds do one, although can't say I've every seen on in ours.

      do not remove the nut entirely whilst bashing pulling yanking at wheel otherwise you'll have a wheel shaped dent in your forehead.

          tricky to get steering wheels off... usually sit for an hour hitting, pulling, heating... go for a cuppa cos you're peed off and come back and it's fallen off all on it's own!!.... WARNING, do not use mole grips to steer while the wheel's off!!! hehehe!! oops!
