  • Newbie surfer lift kit & mods

    Hi all
Ive recently bought my first surf its a 95 ssrx limited 3.0 I've done a lot of work so far sorting it out making sure it's mechanical sound and getting everything working as it should be .
Next step is to start spending some more money on the old girl and am looking for a 2" body lift kit but I can only seem to find poly lift kits but being a mechanic its in my head that a stainless kit would be better
Any one on here fitted either lift kits or had any prob with a poly kit ?
Also need to sort out the steering as its a it wooly to say the least lol !

It's only 1 and 1/2", but I think this is a metal one. Cheers

No problems at all with the poly lift kits. They do exactly what it says on the tin.Unless your is a show truck then S/S is an expensive option. As for steering check steering idler and pitman arm and inner and outer track rod ball joints.

That's a painted truck. Nice looking all the same, I like what they have done with the lower valance.

Thanks for the replies think I'll probably go with the poly kit tashtego as I really wanted 2" lift really
Thanks James She's coming along nicely and have spent a lot of time on her so far cleaning her up before it gets covered in mud again lol
Surfenstein pitman arm and idler are new track rod ends are fine with no play think the cause maybe the rag link as it don't look to sharp so may be getting rid of that 😄
Yoshie she's all original paint work m8 just highly polished lol and looks better in the photos 😄 never seen a front valance like it before but I think It looks good with the Bosch fogs aswell !

is that an auto, or manual? if manual you need to get a hose (toyota hiace will do) 2inch longer for the clutch, due one side its attached to the body, and the other side to the starter motor

Very nice for original then sorry.
I just hadn't seen the plastic body molding painted body colour before or a side graphic like that.

It's ok pal I specifically went for one all the same colour and so glad I've bought one , mine did have hilux surf written on the back door but I removed them as they were all falling apart and looked shabby there's a guy near me that's gonna make me a couple to put back on later , I have now seen another couple of surfs on the web like the one below with the same decals so may be as its got a gold limited badge on the back is why it's different , or they where limited on paint that's why it's all one colour lol 😄
