Roof bar clamps

Hi there, does anyone know whether you can get away with universal roof bar clamps to the top of the doors?

The Thule ones on Roughtrax are obviously designed to grab on to the top of the Surf doors specifically, but I'm wondering whether 'universal' ones would grab and hold just the same, or is it worth spending the extra?

Yeah, any of the hook over the edge of the roof type should be fine mate.

I had a cheapo set of Halfrauds ones on my old gen2 and they were fine.

Does anyone know where I can get the clamps that fit into the roof tracks on a gen 3 please? Or a complete rack or whatever is supposed to go up there?
I'm running out of interior space for hair care products....

Haven't got the thule model number to hand (will try and find the box) but they are a rapid fit pack for T track mounting (you will have to get some 6mm unistrut nuts as the ones Thule supply are to small)
