  • 6" suspension lift???

Hello been looking around the forum for quite some time now and cant seem to find a great deal of info on a lift of this size.
Im thinking about getting the rough country 6" lift kit from rocky mountain to fit on my 3L gen 2 but was wondering if it is possible to source a similar kit from inside the uk to avoid shipping expenses?
What else would i need to perform this llift i was thinking of also doing a 2" body lift and sitting the truck on 35s any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Also if anybody has any recomendations of other kits?
    Thanks Joe

    I can't find a link to a 6" lift on rockymountainsusp.com, have you got a link?

I don't think anyone in the UK stocks the bracket lift kits.

For 35's I think you'll need a 4" suspension lift plus a 2" bodylift. I think you'll need to be careful in wheel selection to avoid rubbing - backspacing is important.

Am thinking about the $799 kit
Thanks appreciate the advice about wheels
Think i will give rockymountain a call soon to see how much it would be to get the kit shipped to the uk.

There isn't a 6" lift kit. Your link doesn't work, should it point to THIS page?
Do you know that, with a 50 character limit, it's

Personally if spending that about of money I wouldn't pick the cheapest kit, especially as its also the biggest. You get exactly what you pay for with this sort of stuff.

I've fitted procomp and superlift 4" lifts, both work well. I slightly prefer the superlift kit, (have this on my truck) but mostly cos the rear coils are slightly softer and flex better offroad and the Shocks are better quality. But the procomp lift is actually slightly taller due to stiffer coils.

My truck has 35" M/Ts on 10" rims with the 4" suspension lift, uprated torsion bars (extra to kit) 1 1/2" body lift and 1" rear coil spacers. The front tyres rub significantly still on full lock, and mpg and acceleration are non existent but it goes anywhere offroad which is what it was built for.

Bearmach are UK importers for Procomp stuff, but they only hold LandRover stock so you'll have to wait awhile, and pay UK prices (expect $ = £) If you import it yourself allow for shipping costs, (two heavy boxes) and Import tax and then VAT and a handling fee on top of everything.

Just to add to Tonys post only Superlift and Procomp give you the 'proper' lift at the back (trailing arm relocation brackets) AFAIK

Maybe worth the extra if you intend to go higher. (You can tweak a 'proper' 4" lift up to 5.5" easily and then add a bodylift on top if you wish)

Sorry about the rubbish link and i ment 5" lift.
Albannachs link is the page i was after.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom, is it a good idea to put 2.4 diffs on when running 35s to improve the gearing or is that more hassle than its worth.

A very good idea - I've done the same.. Not too much effort either.
