While I was checking my replacement ifs diff, I noticed the ADD collar that
connects the n/s drive shaft to the diff works along the same lines as the
diff lock on some of the LGV's I work on.
I was thinking, if the diff was welded up and the ADD set up to work
independently of the 4wd system, when in 4wd, you would have permenent
drive to the o/s/f wheel. If extra traction was needed, activate the ADD,
wich would lock up the axle, once clear, deactivate the ADD to regain
steering.
If manual hubs are fitted there wont be any issues on the road.
Any comments welcome.
