  • Steering Shaft extension

Hi Guys, can anyone put up a dimensional drawing for a steering shaft spacer including bolt hole positions/sizes etc, etc, to suit a 2" lift on my 3rd gen? Please don't just say 2"!! I'm looking to make it myself and don't want it to rub. Thanks.

You should be able to undo the splined section to release the tension once you've lifted, so long as it's no more than 2".

I've just fitted a solid axle and moved the steering box forward. I cut and sleeved the shaft which is easier than making spacers etc if you do actually want to extend it.

i thing that the steering on the 3rd gen is entirely different to the 2nd gens as the 3rd gens have a steering rack and not a box

        Ah..

Thats what you get for skimming through the post, didn't even see the 3rd gen reference

Sorry dude. I should imagine there's still a splined shaft set-up however..see how much adjustment you have there.
