Right, I reckon I've had enough free info from here, time to put hand in pocket.

£335 in my paypal account would be nice, then I can have a diff lock too

Not as easy as they make out on the site..but if you're pretty competent with your tools, it's not the worse job you could try and tackle. If it was in the Haynes manual I guess it would be a 3spanner job

Getting the 3rd member out can be tricky, unbolt your hub from the axle..4 bolts behind the wheel, then pull the whole assy' out a few inches so the half shafts separate from the diff.

Take out the 3rd, mark all the adjusters and strip it down. There's 2 bearing carriers that look like big ends and support the carrier and ring gear, it's these that adjust, moving the gear relative to the pinion. I think I had to pull the ring gear off too..then it's just a case of swapping the planet & sun gears for the locker & reassemble.

That's from memory..there maybe one or two steps I may have left out..lol

After reading the site - I've decided not to worry about it for a while as my truck has LSD's and I'd need to buy a new diff (If I changed the rear to a non LSD would I need to change the front? would diff ratio's be the same?)
It might be something to do further down the line.

                        Your ratio stays the same.

You'll only have an LSD in the rear, and unless it's been well looked after will be working well under par, if not more like an open diff. 'if' it's in good nick..you could sell it to fund an auto locker. If you have the resources..buy an axle..service it, order and install the locker then swap out the full axle. Flog your LSD and revel in being able to go where you couldn't before

Maybe he won't get stuck in that puddle at avalanche this year if he fits one...

I've lifted my truck about 8"s since last avalanche - 2" body lift, 4" supension lift and big knobbly mud terrain 33" tyres - I'm thinking I'll beat the puddle this time! and if I don't I've got a snorkel too
